2018 Breeding Season!
Red had a successful 2018 breeding season. Although he only had 20 mature does that he could breed since all the others are still too small, I have high hopes of all twin births which could still give us lots of babies! I know it’s not a huge number but it’s a really great start to a strong goat foundation. Regardless, it will still be a busy February! I will be adding 10 more girls (Red’s daughters) to be paired up with my dapple fella, Iron Chief for next years breeding season. All of Red’s daughters from this year will also be kept back so I can build up my dream herd with the epitome of all herd sires and his amazing genetics and traits. By this time next year I hope to have around 50 does. (Which can’t all be bred till the following year) It’s going to take some time and hard work to make this dream even bigger. But when I develop an entire herd from that big fella and see how awesome those ladies grow up to be, it will all be worth it! Baby steps! The big question here is...how many goats are too many goats in one herd?!
